In 2006 the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Macerata has established a Working Team for the purpose of analysing trends in the Province of Macerata’s economy and to contribute to the devising and implementation of an economic development strategy for the next decade. Since 2007 the CARIMA Foundation has been participating in the realization of this project.

The materials  produced by the Working Team – analyses, policy suggestions, projects – will be  published on this web site as and when they are produced. The aim is to foster a collective learning process which will engender an effective strategy for the economic development of the Province – a strategy able to achieve the objectives of environmental and social sustainability.

This web site proposes a virtual journey through the materials produced by the Working Team. Complete reports resulting from the team’s activity will be also made freely available in PDF format. Moreover, the web site intends to act as an interface with other strategic planning experiences in Italy and in Europe – with particular regard to the European Union’s spatial and economic development. 

We hope that this web site will become an interactive forum for the Province’s policy makers – and also for civil society and all those who wishing to help outline a strategy of sustainable local economic development.
